Day 5 Fasting and Feasting

Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart.

Jeremiah 15:16

Abstaining from food, changing habits and denying the flesh of desires that do not edify our spiritual man, is a great way to rediscover that Jesus is truly as sweet as honey in our mouths. Are you hungry to ingest the transforming and filling presence of the Lord?

You do that each time you consume His words. Fasting may transform your diet, but it is a feasting life on the word of God that will change your life. If you struggle throughout the day, reach for one of the familiar verses that are dear to your heart to remind you of the Lord’s love for you.

The Bible clearly states, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God”.  (Matthew 4:4 KJV)

You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God.  He’s food and drink for the best meal you’ll ever eat. (Matthew 5:6 MSG)

Prayer: Lord thank you for your promise to fill those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. According to Psalm 107:9, you satisfy the longing soul, and those who are hungry, you will satisfy with good things. Lord you are the true and living bread of heaven. Thank you for answering our call to feed us till we want no more. Amen.
