Day 13. Lay Aside the Weight and Flow in Worship

So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’  These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Matthew 6:31-34 NLT

The natural man turns his attention to his natural body first, his diet, his exercise, his New Year’s resolution. The natural woman steps onto the scale and counts her steps. But weigh this concept carefully. What if we stop counting our steps and start walking in step with God instead? What if He is a priority over everything, even our desire to lose weight, to be successful, to have a dream job, or to be a totally healthy person. Since God knows what we stand in need of even before we ask Him, then our wholeness in any area needs to begin with worshipping Him and holiness.

Holiness is having a mindset to allow everything in our lives to be set apart for the Lord and for His glory,

Prayer: Dear Lord you are so wonderful. Please help me to keep you first and foremost in my life. I desire to worship you and you only. I don’t want my personal ambitions and selfish motives to outweigh my desire to honor and adore you. Lord, I trust that all the other things that I need will be added to me as I put you first. In Jesus’ name. Amen
