Day 11. Comfort Eating

But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you. Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.) ( John 14:26-27 AMP)

Many of us attempt to use food as a diversion from pain, a coping mechanism, or a source of comfort. Many of us also find ourselves dominated by food, eating disorders, lack of restraint, and poor decision-making when it comes to what we put in our bodies.

Shopping, social media, over- working, pornography, gambling, drugs, drinking and so many other things can be added to the list of things we run to for our temporary comfort. Why not run to the comforter. His love, care, and protection is beyond temporal but everlasting and eternal.

Prayer: Father, please forgive me for the times that I chose other things as a source of comfort instead of coming to You. Please help me to process my feelings in a healthy way and to surrender my heart, my thoughts, and all my concerns to you.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
