1.Divine Eternal Intervention (DEI)2025
Broken Crayons Still Color
by. Pastor Calvin L. Greer, Sr.
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
A song writer, Vashawn Mitchell once penned the song, “Joy”.
He beautifully proclaims in the first verse of that song that …
“There’s beauty in my brokenness. I’ve got true love instead of pain. There’s freedom, though you’ve captured me. I’ve got joy instead of mourning”.
Many people often believe that once you have given your life to God through Jesus Christ; all is well, no issues, no trials, no heart aches, no hardships and pain. However, God wanted to use our brokenness for His glory. He sees our flaws, blemishes, and imperfections as a means to divinely intervene on our behalf to establish his perfection through our weaknesses.
Under normal circumstances, crayons that are broken and tattered are considered unusable. However, as you pull back a layer of the paper covering the crayon, you will discover that more exposure of what is concealed will allow more usage of the crayon.
In essence, God is more than able to bring light and color to the blank canvases in our lives. We can’t explain or fathom how he uncovers what is hidden in our hearts and in our lives to provide a means to show us that He is well aware of our weaknesses, but his power is made evident in and through those same deficiencies.
In the next few days, you will read a series of testimonials in this devotional that will bring a ray of sunshine and hope to all of you as we see the divine intervention of our Lord and King. No matter the situation, our eternal God is more than able to bring light and color to our dark lives.
Allow God to roll back and discard the layers of pain from your tattered hopes, dreams, inadequacies and failures, so that his power can be seen and revealed to all.
Broken crayons are still usable, and guess what? So are you!
