My testimony on how the Kainos Community Church morning prayer call has blessed me over the past five years.
Joining with other prayer partners each morning to pray is an encouraging and up-lifting experience. Praying through difficult times while hearing testimonies of healing, restoration and how the Lord opens doors, or even closes some doors, is a reminder that He knows what’s best for us. It doesn’t feel good when doors are closed… but Jesus helps us know when it’s for our good. I appreciate the mornings when the scriptures, devotions and prayers seemed tailored made by the Holy Spirit to speak to my needs or circumstances. It reminds me of when Jesus told the disciples He was going to the Father. He promised He would leave them with a gift; a gift that the world could not give them; a gift that is greater than what the world can give… He would give them peace! Jesus said - “I am leaving you with a gift — peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27, NLT) Praying in unity… gives us peace.
Peace is often defined as the absence of conflict. As Christians, we experience continual conflict because of sin, fear, anxiety, and doubt which leads to despair. But Jesus gave us “a gift.” A gift is not something we had to work for. A gift is freely given as an expression of love for the one receiving it. Jesus doesn’t want us to be fearful or in despair about the things He freely gives. Likewise with peace… Jesus doesn’t require us to earn peace. He gives us… HIS peace! And so, when we are warring against the spiritual forces of evil… we have the Holy Spirit who fills us with the peace of Christ. Phil 4:6-7 tells us - “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceed anything you can understand.” (NLT) The peace that Christ gives, guards our hearts and minds as proven through His ministry, His death, and His resurrection.
Praying with other believers and getting into God’s presence to start my day help to prepare me for what is to come. Lady Lethia often says… “This is not what we have to do, but it’s what we get to do!” I’m thankful I get to pray with my Kainos Community family each morning. When we pray in agreement, the Lord moves in a mighty way. It’s a blessing to intercede with brothers and sisters who trust that the Lord hears and answers our prayers. Amen!
